    There are 8 phases of the moon. The moon has different phases to different hemispheres in the world. The first phase is the new moon.

      I did not know that the southern hemispheres are different from the northern hemispheres ads.

    The Moon has Eight phases.The way we see it it is that the Sun's light reflects off the sun so we can see it.The Moon is always facing the same way.

    When the moon orbits around the Earth it causes the moon stages. There are eight phases of the moon. The first phase is the New Moon. Then it goes through the rest of the stages and comes back to the New Moon,and it starts over.

    I learned there are many different phases. I will name some there is Full Moon,Half Moon. Also the Moon is not making its own light. The sun is the one shining on the Moon and makes the Moon shine bright at night.

    The phase called last quarter is not the last phase of the moon.
    The biggest phase of the moon is the full moon.

    The moon takes 29.5 days to complete its cycle.
    Waxing is getting bigger, waning is getting smaller.
    The northern hemisphere's moon cycle is opposite the southern hemisphere's.

    The moon orbits the Earth while the Earth orbits the sun.

    I did not know that there were waning gibbous and waxing gibbous. I did not know that the moon got its own light and at certain places on earth they see the moon different.

    The waxing Crescent moon phase is the 1 phase.The light of the sun reflects on the moon and obits around use and we see different part on it that is why there are different phases. There are 8 phases of the moon.
